Mapping provided a fun way to take something ordinary and put in into an entirely different context. Cutting the maps with the CNC produces a texture that can often be mistaken for abstract randomness.
"Please do something with the back of this cabinet!" Those were the orders, and what was done is a map of Paris. CAD data gave me street centre-lines, so it was only a matter of getting the CNC to follow those CAD lines. Finished in white melamine paint.
